What Yapmesh is
Yapmesh is software that runs on your phone and talks to other phones directly. There is no Yapmesh service, no account and nothing to subscribe to, so there is nothing we can suspend or terminate. These terms are about the software and this website.
No warranty, use at your own risk
Yapmesh is provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. It is a work in progress: the features on the home page are marked as verified on real phones or as built and not yet field-tested, and the security page says what has not been audited. To the extent the law allows, Yapmesh is not liable for any loss arising from use of the software or this website.
Not a substitute for emergency services
The SOS feature reaches phones running Yapmesh within radio range or carried by people who walk. It does not call the police, an ambulance or a rescue service, and it can fail silently when no phone is in reach. Use the emergency number of your country whenever you can.
Your responsibilities
- Use Yapmesh lawfully. Some jurisdictions restrict encryption software, radio use or mesh networking; you are responsible for knowing the rules where you are.
- Your phone relays sealed frames for other people, as theirs relay yours. You cannot read them and you are not responsible for their content; you may switch relaying off by closing the app.
- Files you put in the Nearby drop zone go to everyone in range. Do not share what you do not have the right to share.
- Do not use Yapmesh to harass, defraud or endanger anyone. Nobody can ban you from a serverless network; the people around you can block you on their phones, and that is the whole enforcement mechanism.
Installing from outside a store
Yapmesh is installed as an APK file from this site or from another phone. Only install a build whose signing-key fingerprint matches the one published here and shown on the giving phone. Yapmesh takes no responsibility for modified copies.
Licence
The source repository at github.com/zakonweb/zynk does not yet contain a licence file. The protocol specification and the core library are intended to be released under an open-source licence before the first public release; until a licence file is added, all rights are reserved and the code is published for reading and review. The specification itself ends with the words "everything here is open for argument", and that invitation stands.
Export control
For Zak's check before publishing: Yapmesh contains publicly available, open-source encryption (Ed25519, X25519, ChaCha20-Poly1305) and is distributed from Pakistan; the author believes no export licence is required for its distribution, but this statement has not been reviewed by a lawyer.
Trademarks
Yapmesh and Yapmesh are names used by this project. Other names on this site belong to their owners and are used only to describe their products.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, where the project is made, without prejudice to consumer rights you have where you live.

This page is versioned in the public repository; the effective date above is the date of the last change.
